SACD/CD Player
It’s purpose-designed transport spins CDs at 4 times normal read speed and SACD discs at 2 times normal read speed giving the laser multiple chances to extract and refocus through imperfect discs resulting in fewer errors. With this extraordinary level of tracking ability and error correction, the MCD201 gives new life to many previously unplayable discs.
High performance Multi-Bit D/A converters assure wide dynamic range and ultra low distortion. Both PCM and DSD discs are played without digital glare yet deliver all of the imaging, nuance and air that is present on the disc.
MCD201 Features
BETTER DISC TRACKING
By spinning discs at higher speed, the laser is given multiple chances to refocus through scratches and smudges. This results in seamless tracking through many previously unplayable discs.
ANALOG POWER SUPPLY
Costlier than digital switching supplies, they reduce noise and interference that might otherwise compromise the superior performance of the MCD201’s audio circuits.
BALANCED OUTPUTS
Using the balanced output on the MCD201 provides a noise free path to connected equipment for the best possible performance.
HEADPHONE OUTPUT
A front panel 1/4" headphone jack delivers plenty of output with vanishingly low distortion and noise. Front panel and remote control volume is provided. The front panel mute button silences the rear outputs for private listening.
FRONT PANEL DESIGN
Front panel glass design is illuminated with long-life, cool running fiber optics that make operation in low light easier. Silk screening on the inside of the glass front panel prevents wear of the nomenclature, ensuring lasting beauty and highest resale value…a McIntosh hallmark feature.
