McIntosh D1100's "Incredible Clarity and Realism" sends reviewer to "Sonic Dreamland"

UPDATE: D1100 wins 2017 Thumbs Up Award.

The D1100 Digital Preamplifier is a reference level stereo preamplifier and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with an 8-channel, 32-bit DAC used in Quad Balanced mode. It’s the most advanced DAC we’ve ever used and reproduces your digital music with an unprecedented level of accuracy and authenticity.

Reviewer Tyler Stripko of Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity put the D1100 through its paces recently and notes that "Besides being incredibly simple to set up," it also "proved capable of reproducing digital files of all types with incredible clarity and realism." On Patricia Barber's Modern Cool, he was "shocked at how much better this disc sounded through the McIntosh D1100 than my current preamp... I’ve used this track to demo tons of equipment and this is possibly the best I’d ever heard this song sound." With Mozart's Violin Concerto in D major: Allegro "everything just sounded so realistic... Through the D1100, I was sitting in the best seat in the concert hall. Through my [current preamp], I was clearly listening to a recording of a live event."

The D1100 delivered everything he could possibly want: "Amazing bass, a beautiful midrange, detailed and airy treble, stunning imaging, and an expansive soundstage. It brought out the best qualities of my speakers and made them sound better than I had ever heard them before."
