HI-FI WORLD: McINTOSH MC152 STEREO AMPLIFIER IS SUBLIME WITH A BIG, SPACIOUS SOUND
Hi-Fi World reviewed our MC152 stereo amplifier, which impressed immediately “with its big, spacious sound” and “has the traditional McIntosh strength of exercising a firm grip over virtually any loudspeaker.” On King Tubby’s Dub Fever, the MC152 was capable of “generating earth-shaking levels of bass yet without losing the sense of air and atmosphere” found on the recording.
“It was the combination of power, control and overall coherence that made the McIntosh work so well with seemingly all musical genres… It can be subtle and fleet-of-foot when needed – yet is just at home pounding out deep bass lines, crashing guitar chords or orchestral crescendos.” Our smallest solid state amplifier, it’s “not just a cut-down version of McIntosh’s bigger power amplifiers but a great performer in its own right.” Awarded 5 out of 5 Globes.
