WHAT HI FI: McINTOSH C2500 "MUST BE THE MOST VERSATILE HIGH-END PREAMP WE'VE EVER TESTED."

What Hi Fi opens their review of our newest vacuum tube preamplifier by simply yet boldly stating "McIntosh’s C2500 must be the most versatile high-end preamp we’ve ever tested." That's a big statement to live up to, but with its 15 total inputs - including 2 dedicated phono (1 Moving Magnet and 1 Moving Coil) and 5 digital (2 coax, 2 optical, 1 USB) - it is flexible enough to keep all legacy and modern sources connected, while six dual triode tubes will produce that romantic tube sound. The digital inputs will decode digital music at up to 32 bits and 192kHz for high resolution audio playback. No wonder they call it "a forward-looking, comprehensively equipped product that can easily form the heart of any top-end stereo set-up."
