At McIntosh Laboratory, Inc., we use your information to help deliver the best experience and to keep you informed of offers, special promotions and new products. Reviewer René van Es from www.the-ear.net recently got a chance to use our D100 Digital Preamp. He discusses its many features, like that each output has its own circuit, meaning every output, RCA or XLR, variable or fixed, is independent from the others. When he got a chance to listen to one of his favorite artists, he notes the "music flows, warms your heart and surrounds you." He continues, the "music comes alive, swings, demands the attention and captivates you. Not for short moments, I would say for hours if you have the time to play music that long." Finally, he compliments the D100 for having equally good results from the RCA or USB input, noting he has "come across DACs that sounded only good enough over USB or only over RCA," but not acceptable over both - a problem that can limit your choice of source components. Thankfully, the D100 does not suffer from this problem.
